Air India has made history by winning the title of Asia’s Leading Airline Inflight Entertainment 2024 at the prestigious World Travel Awards (WTA) held in Manila. This groundbreaking achievement marks the first time an Indian airline has received this honor.
The World Travel Awards, often referred to as the “Oscars of the travel industry,” celebrate excellence across all sectors of global travel and tourism. This year’s 31st edition showcased the best in the business, and with this award, Air India joins an elite group of airlines recognized for their inflight entertainment (IFE) offerings.
Rajesh Dogra, Air India’s Chief Customer Experience Officer, expressed pride in the recognition, stating, “This award is a testimony of Air India’s commitment to providing our customers with the best inflight entertainment experience.”
What Makes Air India’s Inflight Entertainment Stand Out?
The award highlights Air India’s impressive IFE system available on its Airbus A350s, currently flying the Delhi-Heathrow route and soon to launch flights to New York (JFK) in November. This IFE offering will also be extended to 64 new widebody aircraft on order and legacy aircraft after retrofitting.
Air India boasts a vast library of over 3,000 hours of entertainment, catering to diverse tastes with:

- 1,000 hours of audio content
Indian Cinema
Air India features the largest library of Indian movies in the skies, with over 300 films spanning various genres and decades. New content includes 120 regional movies in eight languages, alongside popular web series.

For international cinema enthusiasts, Air India offers nearly 300 Hollywood movies, including award-winning titles from BAFTA and the Oscars.
Diverse International Selection
The inflight library includes films in 13 languages, featuring critically acclaimed movies from countries like France, Germany, Japan, and more.
TV Shows and Digital Content
With over 1,400 episodes of TV shows and content from leading streaming platforms like Paramount+ and HBO, passengers have access to a wide variety of entertainment.
Audio Experience
Air India Radio features popular hosts like Malishka Mendonsa and Ginnie Mahajan, offering exclusive interviews and podcasts. The extensive music collection includes over 1,200 choices across various genres.
Kids Zone
Young travelers have their dedicated entertainment area with over 100 hours of content, categorized for Pre-Schoolers, Kids, and Teens.
