Hang Seng Index Opens Lower Amid Mixed Performances in Tech and Financial Sectors

The Hang Seng Index opened on a slightly negative note this morning, dropping 24 points, or 0.12%, to settle at 19,947 points. The National Enterprises Index also experienced a modest decline, falling 5 points, or 0.08%, to 7,180 points. In contrast, the Technology Index saw a slight uptick, rising by less than a point, or 0.01%, to reach 4,480 points.

Stock performance within the technology sector was mixed. Tencent posted a modest gain of 0.1%, while Alibaba remained unchanged. Meituan saw a 0.6% drop, while Xiaomi Group managed a 0.4% increase. JD.com and Kuaishou both opened flat, showing no movement in early trading.

The financial sector mirrored this mixed trend. HSBC Holdings saw a slight increase of 0.2%, while AIA Group experienced a decline of 1%. Ping An Insurance edged up by 0.1%, and the Hong Kong Stock Exchange remained stable, showing no change in its opening.
