A business delegation from the Turkish ANASIAD consortium, representing the Anatolia, Yenisehir, and Bursa regions, met with officials from the General Union of Chambers of Commerce in Libya on February 23. The delegation, comprising representatives from various sectors including contracting, construction, and infrastructure, was warmly welcomed by Mohammed Al-Raied, President of the General Union. Al-Raied was accompanied by several business leaders and members of the Chambers of Commerce.
The focus of the meeting was to explore ways to foster stronger economic ties between Turkey and Libya. Discussions centered on key sectors such as agriculture, real estate investment, and development project partnerships. Both parties also discussed the formation of joint delegations to monitor the progress of these collaborations.
A significant part of the talks revolved around addressing challenges faced by Turkish companies operating in Libya, particularly those related to the agricultural characteristics of Turkey’s Yenisehir region—one of the country’s key agricultural hubs.
In addition to these efforts, the two sides agreed to organize specialized economic forums dedicated to agriculture, investment, and trade. The goal is to bolster bilateral cooperation and create additional investment opportunities for both nations.
