Kyle Sandilands Buys $1.8M Copacabana Holiday Home on NSW Central Coast

by Ivy

Radio personality Kyle Sandilands has purchased a $1.8 million “fixer-upper” holiday home in Copacabana, just minutes from Prime Minister Anthony Albanese’s $4.3 million mansion on the Central Coast.

Despite not being as grand as the PM’s home, Sandilands’ new property offers stunning beach views and a family-friendly layout. The purchase price was negotiated down from its original $1.995 million listing in January.

A Coastal Retreat for the Family

Sandilands revealed the purchase while speaking to Triple M Central Coast hosts Paddy Gerard and Maz Compton. He and his wife, Tegan Kynaston, were drawn to the area due to her family’s presence there but ruled out Albanese’s home due to safety concerns for their young son, Otto.

“We looked at the same place the Prime Minister bought. It’s a beautiful place, but the backyard is six meters of lawn and then a 30-meter cliff to your death. With a two-year-old, I thought it wasn’t good,” Sandilands said.

The three-bedroom, three-bathroom home sits on a 541-square-meter block and features a wraparound balcony with picturesque views of Copacabana Beach and Macmasters headland.

Described as “soaked in sunlight and positioned to maximize the views”, the property boasts:

  • Spacious open-plan living areas leading to outdoor balconies
  • Three generous bedrooms with built-ins and security shades
  • Three bathrooms, including a master ensuite
  • A rumpus room near the garage
  • Ducted air-conditioning, waterproof security shutters, and a gated entry
  • A private rear yard with landscaped gardens

The home, which is just a short walk from the beach and trendy local cafes, is expected to undergo renovations.

Sandilands’ Expanding Real Estate Portfolio

The KIIS FM host, who reportedly earns $10 million a year plus bonuses, has been actively investing in real estate:

  • December 2023: Purchased a $14 million Vaucluse mansion for renovation
  • July 2023: Bought a $3 million castle in Glenorie
  • December 2023: Sold his Far North Queensland home for $2.55 million

A Controversial Purchase?

Sandilands acknowledged some locals might not be thrilled about his arrival, recalling a sign that read “celebrities not welcome here.”

“My wife said that’s for you,” he joked.

Despite being friends with Albanese, Sandilands revealed he would not be voting for him in the upcoming Federal Election, stating:

“I like Albo, but I don’t like any of his policies.”

With a long settlement period, the purchase is yet to be finalized, but it appears Sandilands has found the perfect weekend escape close to Sydney.
