Investor sentiment remains fragile after a volatile week, largely influenced by trade negotiations between the U.S., Mexico, and Canada. In a recent interview, President Donald Trump referred to the economic environment as a “period of transition” when asked about the potential for a recession, further contributing to the uncertainty.
This week, market participants will closely watch a series of important economic reports. The New York Fed’s survey of consumer expectations is scheduled for Monday, followed by the University of Michigan’s consumer sentiment reading on Friday.
Inflation data will take center stage, with the release of the consumer price index (CPI) on Wednesday and the producer price index (PPI) on Thursday. These reports will be critical in shaping investor expectations and guiding decisions in an increasingly volatile market.
