The week-long festival, which will run from March 31 to April 4, aims to drive productivity and foster collaboration among businesses across Leicester and Leicestershire.
Now in its seventh year, the Leicester Innovation Festival celebrates the power of ideas and technological advancements that enhance business efficiency. The festival is organized by the Business Gateway Growth Hub, and brings together public, private, and academic sectors for a diverse program of activities. Empowering Local Manufacturing

Dr. Kate Broadhurst from Loughborough Business School will lead this online session, presenting findings from the InterAct programme, a £4.4 million initiative funded by Made Smarter Innovation. The program aimed to address the human challenges arising from the introduction of new technologies in the manufacturing sector. This session will provide actionable strategies for enhancing digital technology adoption in manufacturing operations, offering practical solutions for improving innovation and business efficiency.
Brewing Innovative Ideas Roadshow – Harborough District
Date: 2 April, 9:30 AM – 12:30 PM (Harborough Innovation Centre)
This event highlights opportunities for businesses to collaborate with local universities in areas such as placements, consultancy, graduate employment, and research. A key focus will be on Knowledge Transfer Partnerships (KTPs), a 50-year-old initiative that helps businesses tap into academic expertise to drive innovation. Hosted in collaboration with De Montfort University, the University of Leicester, and Harborough District Council, this event celebrates the enduring success of KTPs.
Innovation Mixer: Clean Tech Edition
Date: 4 April, 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM (Loughborough University Science and Enterprise Park, LUSEP)
This event, organized by the LUinc. team, aims to connect Clean Tech sector founders with experts, investors, mentors, and professionals. Attendees can participate in lightning pitches, tech talks, and facilitated networking sessions, providing a platform for collaboration and innovation in the Clean Tech industry.
The 2025 festival, which will officially launch at the National Space Centre on March 31, includes a variety of workshops, conferences, and networking sessions available both online and in-person across Leicestershire. Other event hosts include De Montfort University, the British Business Bank, Innovate UK, and Charnwood Campus, all contributing to the rich diversity of sessions available.
