All listed stocks of Adani Group rose sharply in Tuesday’s trading session amid heavy volumes. Adani Total Gas Ltd was the top gainer, rising 19.62 per cent to touch a day’s high of Rs 642.10. Around 2.73 lakh shares changed hands on the BSE today. This was far above the fortnightly average volume of 60,000 shares. Turnover on the counter was Rs 16.50 crore, taking its market capitalisation (m-cap) to Rs 68,056.25 crore.
Shares of Adani Energy Solutions Ltd rose 13 per cent to touch a day’s high of Rs 824.
Adani Green Energy Ltd soared 7.84 per cent to Rs 1,010.90 in early trade today. Adani Power soared 8.47 per cent to Rs 430.50.
Adani Enterprises Ltd, the flagship company of the diversified Adani Group, rose 6.26 per cent to touch a day high of Rs 2,370.
Adani Wilmar Ltd’s counter climbed 6.86 per cent to touch a high of Rs 338.65. Adani Wilmar is a 50-50 joint venture between Adani Group and Singapore-based Wilmar.
Adani Ports gained 3.71 per cent, NDTV 6.03 per cent, ACC 2.86 per cent while Ambuja Cements gained 3.66 per cent.
The sharp rise in Adani shares came after the Supreme Court reserved its order in the Adani-Hinderburg case after hearing several pleas in the matter.
A bench headed by Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud said the apex court could not question Sebi’s investigation into the case on the basis of media reports alone.
The court also said that the Securities and Exchange Board of India must complete the probe in all the 24 cases. Earlier, Sebi had said in its status report on August 25 that it had completed its investigations in 22 of the 24 cases.
The market regulator said it would not seek any extension to complete the probe into billionaire Gautam Adani’s group.
