Cyndi Lauper, the legendary artist behind hits like “Girls Just Want to Have Fun” and “Time After Time,” has unveiled plans for her farewell tour.
Marking her first major tour in over a decade, the Brooklyn-born singer-songwriter will embark on a final series of performances across 23 North American cities from October 18 to December 5, as announced by events promoter Live Nation.
Renowned for classics such as “True Colors” and “All Through the Night,” the two-time Grammy Award winner will kick off her tour at the Bell Centre in Montreal, Canada. She will grace Madison Square Garden in her hometown of New York City on October 30, before concluding her tour at the United Center in Chicago, Illinois.
Special guests will accompany Lauper throughout the tour, with their identities to be revealed at a later date, Live Nation confirmed in a press release on Monday.
Tickets will be available starting Tuesday through an artist presale, with additional presales leading up to the general sale on Friday via Live Nation’s website.
In conjunction with the tour, a documentary titled “Let the Canary Sing” will premiere on Paramount+ in the US and Canada on Tuesday. Directed by Alison Ellwood, the film delves into Lauper’s journey to fame, her dynamic punk-inspired style, and her advocacy efforts, according to the press release.
Lauper will also discuss her “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun Farewell Tour” and the documentary on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” this Wednesday.
