FDA Issues Warning After Illnesses Linked to Diamond Shruumz Products

by Ivy

The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has issued a stark warning to consumers and retailers regarding products from Diamond Shruumz, advising against the consumption, sale, or serving of their microdosing chocolate bars, infused cones, and gummies. This caution comes after reports of twelve people falling ill across eight states, with ten individuals requiring hospitalization.

The affected states include Arizona, Indiana, Alabama, Missouri, Kentucky, Nevada, Pennsylvania, and South Carolina. Reported symptoms among those who consumed the products include seizures, central nervous system depression, agitation, abnormal heart rates, and nausea and vomiting. Despite these severe reactions, no deaths linked to the products have been reported.

Microdosing involves the consumption of small amounts of psychedelic substances like psilocybin mushrooms, purportedly for mood enhancement and increased focus. Diamond Shruumz claims their products contain a blend of nootropic and functional mushrooms but emphasize the absence of psilocybin, amanita, or any scheduled drugs in their formulations, according to their website.

The FDA is collaborating with the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), America’s Poison Centers, and local health authorities to investigate the reported illnesses and determine the cause.
