Mindy Kaling has announced the birth of her third child, a baby girl named Anne, who was born in February. The joyful news came on Monday, coinciding with Kaling’s 45th birthday. She shared the update on her Instagram, expressing her happiness and gratitude.
“She’s the best birthday present I could’ve ever imagined,” Kaling wrote, reflecting on the joy her three children bring to her life. She added, “When things are hard, whenever I veer towards cynicism, my three kids are such a great reminder of the pure joy in my life.”
Kaling also shared her appreciation for living in a place where she could choose to expand her family on her own terms. She thanked her followers for their birthday wishes and support.
The post included a series of heartfelt photos: one of her three children together, a picture showcasing her baby bump, and a touching snap of her two older kids, Katherine (6) and Spencer (3), on what seems to be Kaling’s hospital bed.
Kaling’s announcement came as a surprise since the actor had not publicly revealed her pregnancy.
In an interview with Today in March, Kaling spoke about the close bond between her older children. “Literally, all you want as a parent are these glimmers of hope that your children will get along with each other unprompted,” she said. “When they’re (asked) ‘Who is your best friend?’ they say each other, and that is incredibly moving.”
The “Office” star has not publicly shared details about her children’s father(s) and remains private about her personal life.
