Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis are back on set, reprising their iconic roles as mother-daughter duo Anna and Tess Coleman for “Freaky Friday 2.”
While Disney is keeping most plot details under wraps, the sequel is set to continue years after the original film’s identity-swapping adventures. The storyline reveals that Anna, now a mother herself, is navigating the complexities of blending families with her soon-to-be stepdaughter. As Tess and Anna face the challenges of merging their families, they find themselves in another extraordinary situation that suggests lightning can indeed strike twice.
The announcement was made with a photo posted on X (formerly Twitter), captioned, “The Colemans are back and coming to theaters in 2025! The sequel to Freaky Friday is now in production!”
In addition to Lohan and Curtis, the film will see the return of several original cast members, including Mark Harmon, Chad Michael Murray, Christina Vidal Mitchell, Haley Hudson, Lucille Soong, Stephen Tobolowsky, and Rosalind Chao. New faces joining the cast include Julia Butters, Manny Jacinto, Maitreyi Ramakrishnan, and Sophia Hammons.
Jamie Lee Curtis has been teasing the reunion with Lohan, building anticipation for what promises to be a nostalgic and entertaining continuation of the beloved 2003 film. Fans can look forward to the Colemans’ return when “Freaky Friday 2” hits theaters in 2025.
