Amazon (AMZN) has revealed that Prime Day 2024 will span July 16-17, featuring exclusive deals across 23 countries. The 10th annual event kicks off at 12:01 a.m. PDT on July 16, with early deals available from July 8-15.
Last year’s Prime Day set a record for Amazon, marking its largest single-day sales performance on the first day of the event. With over 200 million paid Prime subscribers globally, Amazon anticipates robust participation, aiming to surpass previous milestones of more than 375 million items sold worldwide.
Prime members can look forward to exclusive perks such as invite-only deals, including up to 40% off Sony Wireless Headphones and up to 30% off Peloton products. Additionally, Amazon plans to cater to back-to-school shoppers with special guides tailored for parents, students, and educators gearing up for the upcoming semester.
Jamil Ghani, Vice President of Amazon Prime, highlighted the significant savings enjoyed by Prime members during last year’s event, totaling nearly $24 billion from deals and coupons, with Prime members benefiting from over $2.5 billion in savings alone during Prime Day 2023.
Beyond the United States, Prime Day will be accessible to shoppers in 22 other countries, with India scheduled to participate later this summer. Amazon’s recent enhancements in its U.S. warehouse network are expected to bolster delivery speeds for Prime members, potentially driving sales during the 2024 event.
As of Tuesday afternoon, Amazon shares were trading approximately 1% higher at $187.59, reflecting a 23% increase in 2024.
Prime Day 2024 promises to deliver an array of enticing offers, reinforcing Amazon’s position as a leader in online retail and setting high expectations for another successful sales event.
