by Ivy

The nominees for the 76th Emmy Awards, television’s most prestigious honor, were unveiled on Wednesday morning, with the FX series “The Bear” leading the pack. The show, which is set in a Chicago sandwich shop, received an impressive 23 nominations, surpassing the previous record of 22 set by NBC’s “30 Rock” in 2009.

In the drama category, “Shōgun” topped the list with 25 nominations. Despite these achievements, the all-time record of 32 nominations held by HBO’s “Game of Thrones” since 2016 remains unchallenged. (HBO is owned by CNN’s parent company.)

This year’s nominations saw some changes as past favorites like “Succession” and “Ted Lasso” were not eligible. However, “The Crown,” “The Morning Show,” and “Only Murders in the Building” have emerged as the new legacy shows, each securing multiple nominations.
