Infineon Technologies will eliminate 1,400 jobs globally and relocate an additional 1,400 positions to countries with lower labor costs, as part of its ongoing cost-saving measures, announced the German chipmaker’s CEO on Monday.
This reduction includes the previously disclosed cancellation of several hundred positions at Infineon’s Regensburg facility in southern Germany.
CEO Jochen Hanebeck assured that the company will avoid forced redundancies in Germany as part of this restructuring.
