The Olympic Games are gearing up for a Hollywood touch, and Tom Cruise just gave a preview of what to expect.
During the closing ceremony on Sunday, the “Mission: Impossible” star wowed the audience with a thrilling stunt jump from the top of the Stade de France. As the spotlight fixed on Cruise, he descended to the arena floor on a cable. Making his way through the crowd, he shook hands, took selfies, and even shared an enthusiastic hug with a female athlete.
But Cruise didn’t stop there.
In a spectacular nod to Los Angeles, the host city for the 2028 Olympics, Cruise took the Olympic flag, attached it to a motorcycle, and rode out of the stadium through a sea of athletes—without any reported injuries.
Hollywood Handoff to Los Angeles
The ceremony continued with a pre-recorded segment where Cruise was seen riding through Paris before boarding a plane. In a cinematic twist, the plane seemingly transported him to Los Angeles. The camera then panned out to reveal Cruise at the iconic Hollywood sign, now modified with the Olympic rings replacing the double “o”s.
Cruise, known for his daring stunts, brought his signature flair to the event. The actor, famous for performing his own high-risk scenes in the “Mission: Impossible” series, proved once again why he’s a household name in action cinema.
An eighth installment of the “Mission: Impossible” franchise, where Cruise plays the intrepid spy Ethan Hunt, is slated for release in 2025. Reflecting on his fearless approach to stunts, Cruise told CNN last year, “It’s not that I don’t get scared. It’s that I don’t mind being scared.”
