A host of UK celebrities, including a newly-bearded Prince William, have congratulated Team Great Britain on their impressive performance at the Paris Olympics. In a video shared on the X (formerly Twitter) account of the Prince and Princess of Wales, rapper and Olympics correspondent Snoop Dogg kicked off the celebratory messages.
“From all of us watching at home, congratulations to Team GB,” said Catherine, Princess of Wales, commonly known as Kate.
“Well done on all you’ve achieved,” added Prince William. “You’ve been an inspiration to us all.”
Soccer legend David Beckham and TV presenter Emma Willis also joined athletes and other public figures in praising the team.
The post on X read: “Well done @TeamGB, what an incredible journey! Every athlete showed immense dedication, heart, and passion. You made us all so proud! Here’s to celebrating every triumph at @Paris2024 and looking forward to more from @ParalympicsGB later in the summer.”
Prince William’s new bearded look generated almost as much buzz as the team’s victories. The video also featured Kate, who has made a few public appearances since her cancer diagnosis in March.
Team Great Britain athletes secured 65 medals at the summer Olympics held in Paris, earning widespread admiration and support from their home country.
