Richmond, VA – The Richmond City Council has announced a significant overhaul of the city’s real estate and appraisal software systems. The Assessor of Real Estate office is nearing completion of this major upgrade, set to enhance the Richmond Real Estate Database and Appraisal System.
According to a statement from the City of Richmond, the transition to the new software will occur between November 8 and December 22, 2024. The updated system is anticipated to be fully operational by January 15, 2025.
City officials have strategically scheduled the software transition during a period when updates to the Richmond Real Estate Parcel Mapper are typically on hold, to minimize disruption. “This timing is intended to reduce service impact during the city’s billing cycle,” explained a city spokesperson.
Residents, contractors, and other stakeholders who rely on the system are advised to submit any planned modifications, updates, or transfers related to Richmond Real Estate parcels before the transition begins on November 8, 2024.
The upgraded system will encompass all real estate parcels within Richmond’s city limits, offering a comprehensive view of the city’s property data.
