HANNIBAL, Mo. (KHQA) — The 2024 Pumpkin Palooza has taken place in downtown Hannibal this weekend, marking its third consecutive year. This vibrant event aims to boost local business in the area as the holiday season approaches.
Participants enjoyed the opportunity to purchase tickets and coupons, allowing them to redeem discounts at various local stores. The weekend festivities included live music and a pumpkin-themed scavenger hunt, drawing in crowds from near and far.
Meagan Garey, Visitor Services Manager at the Mark Twain Museum, shared her insights on the event’s impact: “A lot of the time people will go, and they’ll redeem their tickets, but maybe they’ll find something else in the store that they want to get as well. A lot of the time, we hear people say, ‘Oh, I didn’t know this was here.’ So, it’s just really great about getting the word out and letting people try stuff they might not have otherwise thought to go into.”
Looking ahead, Hannibal is set to host two more Halloween-themed events in October: Living Dead Windows on October 26 and Trunk-Or-Treat on October 31. These events promise to continue the momentum of community engagement and support for local businesses.
