The Aura Business Park in Baringa is experiencing a surge of new tenants, marking it as a significant hub for industrial and commercial activity. This expanding business center is set to welcome Sydney Tools, Australia’s largest industrial power tool distributor, further solidifying its reputation in the region.
The lease for a substantial 2,200 square meter space at 7-13 Carnegie Street was secured off-plan through the efforts of Sam Hoy, Michael Shadforth, and David Goldsworthy from RWC Northern Corridor Group. Alex Newby, development manager at Sydney Tools, expressed enthusiasm for the new location, highlighting its strategic importance.
“This site is an ideal position to cater to the trade activities generated by one of Australia’s fastest-growing communities, Aura, alongside the established market in Caloundra,” Newby stated. He added that they are eager to replicate the success of their Kunda Park store at the new site.
The Aura Business Park has already attracted a variety of retailers, including Samios Plumbing, Mitre10, Carpet Court, Bridgestone, and Ultra Tune, who were among the first to respond to the dramatic demographic shifts occurring on the southern Sunshine Coast.
Michael Shadforth, president of the Caloundra Chamber of Commerce and director of RWC Northern Corridor Group, emphasized the increasing demand for retail space in the area, especially with upcoming road upgrades planned for the region.
“The economic landscape of the Sunshine Coast is undeniable and has attracted the attention of national developers and businesses,” Shadforth noted. “We are witnessing the community surpass the demographic benchmarks that attract more national retailers and trade service businesses.”
Shadforth also mentioned that the Aura Business Park has reached a pivotal point where the businesses within the park can benefit from each other’s activities, creating a symbiotic environment. “This pattern has been observed repeatedly in the northern corridor, with previous business parks like Warana, Kunda Park, North Lakes, and Corporate Park showcasing similar growth.”
Since the first stage of the Aura Business Park was completed in 2018, over 100 tenancies have been established. When fully developed, Aura is projected to support a population of more than 50,000 residents, further enhancing its appeal as a vibrant business destination.
