Kiersten Vincent, the owner of “Pluck,” a women’s clothing boutique, recently relocated her shop into the old Esquire Theater building, which had remained vacant for decades. “I’ve always loved clothes and fashion from a very young age,” Vincent shared. After initially starting her business in the indie house, she felt compelled to move to Broadway when it was time to expand.

“I had that feeling like this is going to be perfect, especially since we wanted to be at the forefront of downtown and close to the university,” she added.

In addition to these newcomers, Madison Snyder is preparing to launch a franchise of Grateful Headz dispensary on Broadway in November. Snyder explained, “Every weekend, I go to Broadway and work in my own shop,” expressing her belief that the area is ideal for attracting a younger demographic.

As more businesses plan to open along Broadway, the owners are optimistic about their prospects. Snyder expressed her excitement to introduce her brand to Cape Girardeau, while Vincent added, “I think I’ve settled into this role, and I’m eager to grow.”

Cape Girardeau Chamber of Commerce leaders are equally encouraged by the influx of new businesses, marking a promising period for the city’s commercial landscape.
