South Korea’s Financial Supervisory Service (FSS) has launched a new initiative aimed at providing financial education to foreign residents at designated bank branches. Announced on Tuesday, the program includes the installation of informative materials across 88 specialized bank branches throughout the country.
The promotional resources, available in eight languages, are designed to assist foreigners in navigating the South Korean financial landscape. The materials feature QR codes that link to a Financial Life Guidebook specifically tailored for expatriates, as well as educational videos focused on financial lifestyles.
The guidebook offers essential insights for foreigners living in South Korea, including instructions on how to utilize various banking services. Meanwhile, the accompanying videos showcase consultations between foreign residents and financial experts, providing practical advice in an accessible format.
Foreign visitors to these bank branches will be able to access financial education resources through notifications and QR codes presented in their native languages. The specialized branches aim to enhance the banking experience for foreigners by offering tailored services, including holiday operations and interpretation assistance, in response to the growing population of foreign workers in South Korea.
