On December 12, 2024, the exclusive “Celebrating Power Women in Real Estate” event highlighted the accomplishments of five influential women, each driving transformative change in the property sector across Asia.
An Evening of Recognition and Inspiration
The event took place at the luxurious Kandhavas Place at The Athenee Hotel in Bangkok, following the annual PropertyGuru Asia Real Estate Summit (ARES). It brought together industry leaders, professionals, and visionaries to honor the impact women have on the real estate market. The evening celebrated women breaking barriers, pioneering sustainability, and pushing boundaries in an industry traditionally dominated by men.
The honorees represented diverse markets across Southeast Asia, from Thailand to Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, and Singapore, showcasing the broad reach of their leadership and contributions to the property sector.
Celebrating the Visionaries Who Lead the Way
The spotlight was on five extraordinary women who are shaping the real estate industry in remarkable ways:
Dora Chng (Singapore) – As Residential Director at GuocoLand, Dora has played a pivotal role in creating luxury living spaces in Singapore, including award-winning projects like Wallich Residence and Martin Modern. She encourages women to seize opportunities, work hard for respect, and continue fostering a culture of mentorship.
Ixora Ang (Malaysia) – Managing Director for Marketing & Sales and Business Development at Tropicana Corporation, Ixora has been a catalyst for innovation in the Malaysian property market. She champions authenticity, bravery, and collaboration in leadership, creating space for women to thrive in leadership roles.
Jessica Bianca “Jica” T. Sy (Philippines) – As VP & Head of Design, Innovation, and Strategy at SMDC, Jica has focused on integrating disaster risk reduction into property development, particularly in the Philippines. She advocates for women’s involvement in leadership roles to empower and uplift others in the industry.
Asst. Prof. Dr. Kessara Thanyalakpark (Thailand) – Managing Director of Sena Development Public Company Limited, Dr. Kessara has led the charge in sustainable innovation, pioneering solar-powered real estate in Thailand. She emphasizes the importance of supporting women and showing them there are no limits to what they can achieve.
Vivin Harsanto (Indonesia) – Senior Director and Head of Advisory at JLL Indonesia, Vivin brings over two decades of expertise to the Indonesian real estate market. As Chairperson of the PropertyGuru Indonesia Property Awards, she works to raise industry standards and foster equity, inclusion, and collaboration.
