Interior Designer Melissa Giuffrida Lists Renovated Historic Home in Armadale

by Ivy

Prominent interior designer Melissa Giuffrida, known for founding the second-hand furniture marketplace Collecte in 2019, has listed her beautifully renovated, historic Armadale home for sale with a price guide of $7.5 million to $8 million. The five-bedroom residence, located at 53 Rose St, was originally built in 1889 and has been expertly transformed by architect Taylor Knights and landscaper Ben Scott.

Giuffrida, renowned for her design skills, has overseen every aspect of the home’s interiors. CoreLogic records show she purchased the property for $4.25 million in March 2019. The home, which retains its original layout, underwent an extensive 18-month renovation process, focusing particularly on the garden space to make the most of the home’s stunning north-facing garden. A highlight of the garden is a circular solar-heated pool, adding both beauty and sustainability to the property.

Inside, the home exudes warmth and personality, with vibrant colours featured throughout to create inviting and cosy living spaces. One of Giuffrida’s favourite parts of the home is the main bedroom’s private terrace, a perfect spot to unwind in the evenings. She also expressed her love for the sage green tiles and drying cupboard in the laundry, further reflecting her focus on thoughtful design details.

The home’s kitchen is a chef’s dream, fitted with a Lacanche double French oven, a butler’s pantry, and marble benchtops, while the light-filled dining and living areas showcase Giuffrida’s signature style. The living areas feature high-end finishes like Carrara marble, Fionacchi terrazzo, and Brodware fixtures.

Outside, the landscaped garden boasts a gas-heated spa, a wood-burning fireplace, and the solar-heated pool, perfect for entertaining or relaxing in privacy.

According to Melbourne Sotheby’s International Realty agents Max Ruttner and Antoinette Nido, the home presents an incredible opportunity to step into a fully renovated residence designed by well-known architects, landscapers, and interior designers. Ruttner noted that the Armada area is highly desirable due to its proximity to Beatty Ave, offering easy access to top-notch cafes, restaurants, and amenities.

Ruttner also commented on the growing demand for fully-renovated homes in Melbourne, highlighting that there is already more energy in the property market this year compared to last. The home is expected to attract plenty of interest, with expressions of interest closing at 1pm on March 31.
