Alaa Farouk, Egypt’s Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation, emphasized the country’s dedication to strengthening its ties with African nations during his speech at the annual celebration of the Egyptian African Businessmen’s Association (EABA). Farouk reaffirmed Egypt’s commitment to advancing agricultural cooperation across Africa, aligning with President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi’s vision for greater regional collaboration.
Addressing a prominent gathering of government officials, including Youth and Sports Minister Ashraf Sobhy and EABA President Yousry El-Sharkawy, Farouk spoke before ambassadors, development partners, and representatives from 40 African countries. He urged both Egyptian and African business leaders to seize the promising investment opportunities in agriculture, stressing the sector’s potential to drive sustainable economic growth across the continent.
Farouk praised the efforts of the EABA in fostering deeper relations between Egypt and African nations, highlighting the Association’s role as a crucial platform for connecting the private sector with government initiatives. He called on business leaders to establish strategic partnerships aimed at advancing Africa’s agricultural sector and promoting regional development.
In his remarks, Yousry El-Sharkawy, President of the EABA, commended the strong representation of ministers and government officials at the event, noting it underscored Egypt’s leadership and commitment to boosting collaboration between African and Egyptian businesses. El-Sharkawy also outlined the Association’s future initiatives, including trade exhibitions, business forums, and cultural exchanges, all designed to enhance economic cooperation and facilitate cross-border partnerships.
With a growing focus on agriculture’s role in Africa’s economic future, the Minister’s call for increased investment aims to unlock the sector’s full potential, ensuring long-term sustainability and prosperity for both Egypt and its African counterparts.
