A new study launched by PropTrack in collaboration with Ambient Maps has revealed the significant influence of traffic-related noise on residential property values in Victoria. Road Traffic Noise: For every 10 dB(A) increase in road traffic noise, property values fell by an average of 6%. The closer a property is to the noise source, the more pronounced this effect becomes.

Rail and Tram Noise: Properties near rail and tram lines saw a 4% reduction in value for each 10 dB(A) increase in noise, with station proximity offering some mitigation.

Aircraft Noise: The most substantial impact was seen in areas under flight paths, where property values dropped between 6% and 9% for each 10 dB(A) increase in noise. Properties directly beneath flight paths could experience a total value decline of up to 18%.
