Dubbed “Apollo,” this distinctive team-building exercise was developed by UK-based Jenson8, specializing in VR-based training platforms. The exercise involves teams from different workplaces, each granted three to four attempts within the simulation to strategize their escape. Participants can assume various perspectives during the mission, stepping into roles such as a leader, a standard robot, or an observer.
Upon concluding the VR simulation, participants are encouraged to engage in post-game discussions to dissect the dynamics that led to either failure or triumph. Bryan Barnes, Head of Research and Development at Jenson8, underscores the transformative potential of this immersive experience. “When people are in this immersive experience, it takes away many preconceived notions that they carry with them when they’re in the workplace,” Barnes notes.
