Sean “Diddy” Combs didn’t look too happy despite settling the explosive rape and abuse lawsuit filed by his ex-girlfriend Cassie.
In photographs obtained, the ‘I’ll Be Missing You’ rapper looked stressed and solemn as he hid his face in his hands while sitting outside his Miami home on Saturday.
The music mogul, who was dressed casually in a T-shirt and sweatpants, was seen next to his chief of staff, Kristina Khorram.
At one point, Khorram showed Combs something on her mobile phone before the musician decided to lie down on the outdoor couch.
The Bad Boy Records founder was also seen making a long phone call and walking around his estate.
Representatives for Combs did not immediately respond to Page Six’s request for comment.
The photos mark the first sighting of the rapper since the Me & U singer – born Casandra Ventura – filed her bombshell lawsuit on Thursday, alleging he subjected her to years of physical, sexual and emotional abuse.
In court documents obtained, Ventura, 37, accuses Combs, 54, of forcing her to have sex with male prostitutes while he watched and masturbated, as well as physically abusing her and supplying her with drugs when she was just 19.
“Over the years that Mr Combs physically and sexually abused Ms Ventura, she repeatedly tried to escape his tight grip on her life,” the lawsuit states. “Each time she hid, Mr. Combs’ vast network of companies and affiliates found her, and those who worked for Mr. Combs’ companies begged her to return to him.”
The lawsuit also claims that Combs “was prone to uncontrollable rage and frequently beat Ms. Ventura savagely”.
Combs denied the claims through his lawyer Ben Brafman, who claimed Ventura had demanded money before the lawsuit was filed.
“Mr. Combs vehemently denies these offensive and outrageous allegations,” Brafman said in a statement. “For the past six months, Mr. Combs has been subjected to Ms. Ventura’s persistent demand for $30 million under the threat of writing a damaging book about their relationship, which he has unequivocally rejected as blatant blackmail.”
Just 24 hours after Ventura’s filing, the explosive lawsuit was settled.
In separate statements, both parties said they had reached an “amicable” agreement.
“I have decided to resolve this matter amicably on terms over which I have some control,” Ventura said, adding, “I would like to thank my family, fans and lawyers for their unwavering support.”
The music producer echoed the sentiment, saying: “We have decided to resolve this matter amicably. I wish Cassie and her family the very best. Love.”
Combs’ lawyer later released an additional statement insisting that the settlement was not an admission of guilt.
“Just so we’re clear, a decision to settle a lawsuit, especially in 2023, is in no way an admission of wrongdoing,” Brafman said on Saturday.
“Mr Combs’ decision to settle in no way undermines his complete denial of the allegations. He is pleased that they have reached an amicable settlement and wishes Ms. Ventura the best”.
