Tesla has introduced two new color options for the Model Y, an all-electric crossover, along with updated range estimates for two configurations of the vehicle. The new colors, Stealth Grey and Ultra Red, are not new to Tesla but are newly available for the Model Y. Stealth Grey comes at no additional cost, while Ultra Red incurs an extra charge of $2,000.
Stealth Grey was initially introduced for the Model S and Model X in October 2023, while Ultra Red joined the lineup in March of the same year. Notably, this marks the first time Tesla has offered a new color for the Model Y in the United States since its launch. In Europe, Model Y vehicles produced at Gigafactory Berlin have exclusive color options like Midnight Cherry Red and Quicksilver.
In addition to the new colors, Tesla has adjusted the range estimates for two Model Y configurations. The Long Range configuration now has a range of 310 miles, reduced by 20 miles from its previous rating of 330. The Model Y Performance configuration now has a range of 285 miles, down from its previous rating of 303.
These color options are now available on three Tesla vehicles built in the U.S., while the Model 3 retains its original five color options. However, Tesla has phased out the Midnight Silver Metallic color that was previously a free option for the Model Y.
As of the latest update, Tesla still offers both Midnight Silver Metallic and Red Multi-Coat on the Model 3 as of 8:46 p.m. on Thursday night.
