Tesla has reinstated its offer of transferring the Full Self-Driving (FSD) beta to new vehicle purchases for a limited time, along with extending lifetime Supercharging to include the Model 3. Initially announced over the weekend, the incentive faced uncertainty as reports alternated on its availability. However, Tesla has now officially relaunched the program.
Customers in North America who take delivery of Model S, X, 3, or Y before March 31 will benefit from complimentary transfers of the FSD beta, according to information shared by Sawyer Merritt. The decision follows observations made by Omar of Whole Mars Blog, who noted the appearance of the offer on Tesla’s trade-in estimate page. Despite its brief appearance and subsequent removal, Tesla confirmed its intention to reintroduce FSD beta transfers, attributing the decision to customer feedback.
A subsequent update from Merritt clarified that Tesla has not only reinstated FSD beta transferability but also expanded the offer to include purchases of the Model 3, in addition to the Model S, X, and Y. Moreover, the perk will extend to customers in Mexico and Canada, alongside the United States, contrary to the initial announcement.
In addition to the FSD beta transfer, Tesla has also extended the offer of free lifetime Supercharging, initially limited to Model S, X, and Y buyers, to include the Model 3 as well. This move aligns with Tesla’s efforts to cater to customer demands, following the initial launch of FSD beta transferability last year, which was described as a “one-time amnesty.”
Despite its previous designation as a one-time offer, Tesla’s decision to reinstate FSD beta transferability suggests sustained demand from Tesla owners for such incentives.
