by Celia

Tesla vehicles have garnered a reputation for being excellent choices for long-distance travel, thanks to their array of entertainment and safety features, high performance, and cost-effectiveness. Despite the slightly longer refueling times compared to traditional combustion-powered cars, Tesla owners often find long trips in their vehicles to be comfortable and enjoyable.

According to a recent announcement by Tesla China on local social media platforms, Tesla drivers in China embarked on extensive journeys during the Chinese New Year holiday. Over the span of a week, from February 10th to 17th, Tesla owners collectively covered a remarkable distance of over 700 million kilometers (approximately 435 million miles).

This impressive mileage is equivalent to circling the Earth 18,346 times or completing seven round trips between Earth and Mars. Notably, the all-electric nature of Tesla cars means that the miles traveled by Chinese EV owners during this period were emissions-free, contributing to a significant reduction in carbon dioxide emissions.

Tesla estimates that the cumulative distance traveled by its owners during the Chinese New Year holiday resulted in a reduction of approximately 160,000 tons of CO2 emissions. This reduction is comparable to the environmental impact of planting approximately 9.39 million trees, as reported by CNEV Post.
