Apple is reportedly deviating from its traditional approach of hosting live events to unveil its latest iPads and Macs, as per insights shared by Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman. Instead, the tech giant is purportedly opting for a digital-first strategy, intending to introduce the new products via its website alongside a series of online videos and marketing campaigns.
Anticipation surrounds the forthcoming iPad Pro models, with expectations of a sleeker design and rumors suggesting they may feature a landscape-oriented front camera akin to that of the iPad 10.
March or April typically mark the release window for new iPhone colors, as well as fresh hues for iPhone cases and Apple Watch bands.
Regarding timing, Gurman points to a slated release of a “special version” of iOS 17.4 towards the end of March, tailored to support the impending hardware updates. This timeline suggests the potential arrival of the devices sometime within March or April. Presumably, these devices would come preinstalled with specialized versions of iPadOS 17.4 and macOS 14.4.
iOS 17.4 brings significant alterations to the App Store and other aspects in compliance with the Digital Markets Act, particularly relevant in the EU. Apple faces a deadline of March 6 to conform to the Digital Markets Act requirements to avoid potential penalties. Consequently, it’s widely speculated that iOS 17.4 will likely be rolled out by then, with the special version anticipated to follow later in the month.
